How to perform it
- 01 Place a looped resistance band around your legs, either just above your knees for an easier version or around your ankles for a harder version.
- 02 Stand with your feet about hip-width apart, knees slightly bent, hips back, and chest up.
- 03 Brace your core and keep your toes pointing straight ahead.
- 04 Step one foot out to the side without leaning your upper body.
- 05 Bring the other foot in slowly, but do not let your feet touch or the band go slack.
- 06 Continue stepping sideways for the desired number of steps, keeping constant tension on the band.
- 07 Keep your knees pushed slightly outward and avoid letting them cave inward.
- 08 Move with control and stay low in an athletic stance throughout the set.
- 09 Reverse direction and repeat to the other side.
