How to perform it

  1. 01 Place a looped resistance band around your legs, either just above your knees for an easier version or around your ankles for a harder version.
  2. 02 Stand with your feet about hip-width apart, knees slightly bent, hips back, and chest up.
  3. 03 Brace your core and keep your toes pointing straight ahead.
  4. 04 Step one foot out to the side without leaning your upper body.
  5. 05 Bring the other foot in slowly, but do not let your feet touch or the band go slack.
  6. 06 Continue stepping sideways for the desired number of steps, keeping constant tension on the band.
  7. 07 Keep your knees pushed slightly outward and avoid letting them cave inward.
  8. 08 Move with control and stay low in an athletic stance throughout the set.
  9. 09 Reverse direction and repeat to the other side.
